2 separate studies have shown that something as simple as taking a brisk 1/2 hour walk per day can add up to three years to your life.

In one study, researchers grouped 4121 people into three levels of physical activity: low, medium and high. It turned out that the life expectancy was 3.5 year longer for the high activity group as for the low activity group and the medium activity group life expectancy was 1.5 years longer. The extra years were also lived mostly free from heart disease, another bonus!

The second study involved a real-world walking program. They found that walking briskly or even moderately for 30 minutes for 5 or more improved cardiorespiratory fitness. It was also just as effective to walk briskly 3-4 days per week.

Just implementing a walking program can significantly improve our lives. You can read more about it at walking for health
