Exercise Eases Depression

Many doctors are now prescribing exercise in addition to medication or talk therapy when it comes to depression. That is because there has been substantial research that indicates that exercise can alleviate symptoms of certain mental disorders, such as depression and anxiety.
Even though it is not clear just how exercise reduces symptoms, it is believed that exercise boosts feel-good endorphins in the brain, releases tension in muscles, improves sleep, reduces the stress hormone cortisol and creates a calming effect by increasing body temperature.
The good news is that even a 10 minute walk can help.
