Manuevering the Buffet

A buffet is not exactly a welcoming place for a dieter. I mean not if you want to stay on your diet. But with some thought and consideration if you find yourself at a buffet for whatever reason you can eat reasonably and stay somewhat on your eating plan. It won’t be easy but it is do-able!

Stick with salad, vegetables, lean meats. Stay away from breads, pastas, anything breaded. Most buffets have salad bars and fruits–Go there first. Stay away from creamy soups but water-based soups can be a good start because it fills you up. Get a no calorie drink like water, plain iced tea, or diet soda and drink more than you eat.

Spend more time talking than eating and limit trips back to the buffet.

And next time….pick a different restaurant!!!
