Food Calories List

There is no getting around it- If you eat more calories than you burn you will gain weight. I don’t know how those really skinny people who eat and eat burn so many calories (there really are people like that, aren’t there-or are they just a myth? claiming they eat when they really don’t!) . This is what I do know–If you consume more calories than you burn you will gain weight.

But how many of us know how many calories we actually eat? It’s very eye-opening to keep track and really learn how many calories our food has. A recent breakfast that I had at a fast-food place (not McD’s) turned out to be more than 1000 calories. I was shocked! And all before 8:00 am! Even if you exercise more than usual, can you really burn off that many calories for breakfast plus a normal lunch and a normal dinner in one day? Maybe the unusual people of the “Super Metabolism” but unfortunately that’s not me! So too many calories that day, oh well, just forget it and start again the next day!

But on to my point, if you want to get the calorie count of foods, including many restaurants and pre-packaged meals you can go to this website–calorieking.com It’s pretty inclusive and it really is a great tool for dieters!

So true! I tracked my caloric intake for the first time when I was pregnant and was shocked that I didn’t weight 500 pounds given all the empty calories I consumed.
