Cellphones and Brain Tumors

1009The debate has been ongoing for years–Do cell phones pose an increased risk for users for brain tumors, cancers etc. etc. etc. ?

Well, nothing definitive yet, however, a new sudy out of Sweden reports a link between cell phone use and brain tumors. Other recent studies have denied a connection. So since the majority of most everyone we know now uses cell phones, what are we to believe? Who has the answer? What is the truth?

Unfortunately, there is no answer, yet. There may never be a conclusive answer. To actually prove a correlation may prove very difficult. But, a very high percentage of people in developed countries now use cell phones. If cell phones really are a cause of brain tumors, we should start seeing an increase in the incidence of brain tumors, much like there was an increase in lung cancer from smoking in the 1940’s and 1950’s.

In the mean time, if you are concerned, use earphones, talk less, (or even take the extreme route and only talk on landlines–that would be great for the other drivers on the road, which is probably the biggest risk from cellphones!!). Take the necessary precautions. An earpiece is a small thing to provide peace of mind.
